Our Activities

Our organization has organised many activities since its establishment. With these activities, it is aimed to create environmental awareness of the society as well as young people. The activities carried out within our group for this purpose are as follows:

In 2019, our members participated in the workshop activity called "Sustainable decoration" held in Lisbon. In this activity, we designed sustainable decoration products with recycled products. We had the chance to see the importance of recycling practically with our members in the activity accompanied by a trainer.

Together with our members, we listened to the TEDx talk titled "Efficient climate protection can be easy for everyone". By obtaining various information about climate protection, we exchanged ideas on the subject with our members and talked about the measures that can be taken for the climate. In this way, we renewed our existing knowledge about climate.

In 2020, in order to create disaster awareness, our members went to the Disaster Simulation Centre together with our members and young people who have participated in our activities and know us, and the expert in the centre gave information about the precautions that individuals should take both in building construction and before the earthquake, and explained what individuals should do in cold blood during a disaster. In this way, in addition to the young people who participated in our simulation activity with us, the members of our group also had the opportunity to improve their awareness by making use of this information.

In order to further emphasise the importance of civil defence and to draw the attention of young people in this direction, we talked about the Lisbon earthquake, which was one of the biggest disasters in our country at the time, and made a city survey. In addition, fault lines, erosion and flood zones in our country were also examined by our members, more information was collected by talking to the people of the region, and all the data we had were reported and shared on the social media accounts of our members so that everyone could easily see them.

Due to the urban centres of our country, water and air pollution have reached significant levels. Industrial pollutants are the factor that affects air pollution the most. Our members went to the regions of our country where air pollution is the most intense and conducted research on the factors causing air and water pollution in these regions. Then, as "Green Portugal Environmental Association", we started campaigns in these regions and supported the awareness of the people of the region on this issue. In addition, in order to ensure that our results reach a wider audience and more regions, our members shared the results of our research on their social media accounts and shared the photos and videos taken during the campaigns by writing informative articles under them.
